Crash Injures Two; Driver Arrested

A hit-and-run sent two people to the hospital, including an 18-month-old baby.

The California Highway Patrol said Jimmy Dean Lynch sideswiped a car on Chester Avenue near Decatur Street, sending the driver Charlene Miller to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Lynch lost control of his truck, jumped a curb, hit a parked car and the front of Woody’s Liquors.

Witnesses said Lynch frantically jumped out of the truck holding a baby and took off running.

Brent Siffing, who witnessed the crash, said the baby was bleeding from the left side and head and Lynch was bleeding from the left side.

The baby was later located and taken to San Joaquin Hospital suffering moderate injuries.

According to the CHP, Lynch went to his mother’s. She called 911 for medical help. He was taken to the heart hospital and was arrested Wednesday.
