Ambulance runs into pickup truck

Robert W. Myers, 57, of Oakland was driving the emergency vehicle west on Kanesville and was just about to turn on his siren, according to reports, when he crashed into a 1999 Dodge Truck.

Council Bluffs was headed south on Railroad Highway. He had a green arrow and proceeded into the intersection for a left turn onto Kanesville, the report stated.

The ambulance struck the Dodge on the driver’s side causing $4,000 total damage to the two vehicles.

No injuries were reported.

Myers, who ran a red light without a siren, received a citation for failure to use caution when driving an emergency vehicle.
