Smart cars are fast becoming more popular over the last 12 months. Originally considered a novelty, the smart car is on the rise as a modern fuel efficient and cheap motoring alternative.Cheap smart cars are now an excellent way to avoid the high cost of motoring.
You may already be familiar with smart cars. A tiny four wheeled vehicle no more than about half the length of a normal car. The smart car has a distinctive shape and look and you may well have seen them in the street.
If not you’ll recognize a smart car when you do see it. The most distinctive feature of the car, apart from the fact that the smart car is extremely short, is the steep windshield sloping down to the front of the car, with the front bumper, if you could call it that, right in front of the front wheels.
The original intention of the smart car was to be of use as a vehicle that avoided the parking headaches of larger cars by reason of the fact that it was so short it could park in parking spots so small that not much other than a motorcycle could park there. Not only that but it was also so small that it could park nose or tail in to the kerb without the other end of the car poking out into the traffic and causing a traffic hazard.
It was intended that two smart cars could park in a space which would normally be taken by one regular car, or even 3 smart cars could park in the space occupied by a large vehicle.
The smart car was the result of a joint venture between the car manufacturer .The smart cars were manufactured in a purpose built factory in France which as established and so have been around for some time. It is said that almost 1 million smart cars have been sold in over 25 countries.
smart cars became available in the US, and people started to realize that a cheap smart car was a smart motoring purchase.
Smart cars are cheap compared to average vehicles, and have many advantages over many vehicles as well. And of course they also have disadvantages. They take only 2 people, and are extremely small so it isn’t practical to spend a day shopping and expect to put your new television in the back of the car.
That being said there are some good reasons to buy a cheap smart car, particularly for city dwellers.they are cheap to buy and cheap to operate. They have a gasoline motor but because of the small size and weight of the car don’t eat as much fuel as just about any other car. They are easy to park and easy to house even in the smallest garage. They have achieved surprisingly good results in safety crash tests.
For the canny buyer there are good reasons to buy a cheap smart car. There are small numbers of used smart cars on the market and a second hand smart car is a good way to maximize your savings from a purchase of a smart car. There are a number of places where you can pick up a bargain on a used smart car online if you know where to look.
So if the price of gas is becoming an issue for you and you’d like to keep driving but at a much reduced cost then consider a cheap smart car. It’s a smart purchase and may well keep you on the road when others can no longer afford gas.

The debut of Tracker’s Tundra 18SC has been widely anticipated, as production was delayed about a year because of problems with the tooling process. The deep-V hull, multispecies boat looks as smooth as fiberglass thanks to a stretch-draw aluminum forming process similar to the tooling used by aircraft and race car builders. High-quality paint is used for a finish that looks every bit as slick and glossy as gelcoat. the 18-foot Avalanche bassboat from Tracker boat, also built of stretch-draw aluminum, will join the lineup.
The new Tundra 18SC has everything a walleye tournament angler needs, and that equips it for chasing just about any other fish, as well. A pair of 7-foot, 6-inch rod lockers have plenty of room for striper, salmon and musky rods, including trolling sticks with oversized reels. Front and rear aerated baitwells are conveniently built in at gunwale level. The front deck conceals a 50-inch livewell just behind two big storage compartments and a 39-inch livewell is built into the rear deck. The aluminum box-beam transom has room for a kicker motor. Standard equipment includes: Mercury ELPTO 115 hp engine, four cockpit seats and five bases, front lounge cushions; 12-volt plug-in, 52-pound-thrust MotorGuide trolling motor, AM/FM/cassette stereo and custom-matched trailer with swing-away tongue and disc brakes.
Options include engines from 90 to 175 hp, white, champagne or pewter finishes, hydraulic tilt steering, onboard charger, front tonneau cover, a stainless steel prop and a 6-gallon kicker fuel tank.
Well-appointed, solid and classy looking — that’s Triton’s boat Tr-21 BASS Masters Classic Edition bassboat. Topping out at more than 70 mph with a Mercury 225 hp OptiMax outboard engine, the Tr-21 can also run in rough water with confidence. At 21 feet long and more than 2700 pounds when fully rigged, the Tr-21 is a wave-taming machine that gets you to the fish, no matter where they are hiding.
The interior of the boat is opulent, from the thickly padded seats to the tight marine-grade carpet on the deck. Rod lockers and stowage boxes are finished off nicely, and the driver’s dash is sharp looking with a full complement of gauges, including a speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, water-pressure gauge, trim indicator and voltmeter.
Stowage on the Tr-21 is voluminous, and the port-side rod locker holds up to seven rods in place, protecting the rod tips within individual tubes. The center storage locker is 5-feet long, and is ideal for oversized tackle boxes, rain gear and life jackets. A dedicated tackle locker is aft of the center locker, and it can accept up to nine Plano 3700 series organizer boxes. All the front lockers are fitted with hydraulic-assist lift pistons.
Tournament anglers will appreciate the volume and aeration of the two 22-gallon livewells, which turn over water in less that two minutes. Each livewell comes with a pump-out evacuation system for improved catch retrieval. Rear deck storage includes port and starboard rod lockers that are designed to hold the Plano tackle-organizing system.

Today, the factory is in the middle of an 11-week shutdown. Production was halted because dealers could not sell the trickle of oversized sport utility vehicles the plant’s single shift churned out.
Next spring, Ford truck will move production of the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator to its Kentucky Truck Plant. After that, Ford will begin retooling Michigan Truck to produce smaller, more fuel-efficient vehicles based on its new global compact platform. The plant’s 1,000 employees will be transferred next door to the Wayne Assembly Plant, where Ford will add a third shift in January to produce more of its hot-selling Focus compact cars, which are in great demand as high fuel prices send consumers scrambling to less thirsty vehicles.
The moves are all part of a radical retooling strategy the automaker announced last month. If it succeeds, it will make Ford one of the most versatile car manufacturers on the continent and give the company the flexibility it needs to respond to a rapidly changing market.
As part of the plan, Ford also will convert truck and SUV plants in Mexico and Kentucky to car production. While financial details of those projects have not been disclosed, the company estimates each will cost approximately $250 million to retool.
Ford global manufacturing Truck can be done on the cheap because the company already invested some $300 million here three years ago to build a tooling system that allows the plant to produce several different models on the same assembly line. Since then, the equipment has been used to build different types of SUVs, but most of the same tools — 80 percent — can be used to produce more fuel-efficient cars and crossovers.
“We already have a flexible body shop and we have the ability to convert it fairly inexpensively”, “Because we’re only one shift, we’re not taking advantage of that flexibility that we put in back. This plan allows us to do that, and take advantage of it going forward.”
When the retooling is completed next year, Ford will be able to produce eight different models on the same assembly line at Michigan Truck, which will by then have been renamed to reflect its new focus. Ford has not yet decided what the new name will be.
“These are investments that needed to be made a long time ago,”"Honda truck for sale and Toyota truck for sale have been doing this for years, and they’re the only ones that have been able to handle this transition in the face of high gas prices.”
Ford already has done that in other countries. Its assembly plant in Camaçari, Brazil, is considered a model of flexible manufacturing. But only one of Ford’s North American factories — the Oakville Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada — is building more than one platform on the same line at the same time.
“Around the world, we have lots of flexibility — and we take advantage of it,”"We’ve been on a journey here in North America to do the same thing.”
Some observers have criticized Detroit automakers for possibly moving too quickly to shift truck production to cars. they noted that Michigan Truck will also be able to produce trucks for sale and SUVs again if the market demand returns.

Volvo Construction Equipment for sale (Volvo CE) has received all necessary regulatory approvals for the earlier announced equity investment of 70% in Shandong Lingong Construction Machinery Co. (Lingong), a major construction machinery manufacturer in China and the deal is now closed.
“We are delighted to move forward in our partnership with Lingong. Lingong’s management, brand, R&D center, manufacturing base, distribution and suppliers are important elements in Volvo CE’s growth strategy”,”This cooperation secures Lingong’s future. Volvo’s advanced technology, management and global distribution will be key factors in the development of our company”.
Volvo CE has invested RMB 327.5 million in exchange for 70% of the equity in Lingong. In 2005 Lingong’s operating income was RMB 10.2 million on revenue of RMB 2 billion. The deal has no material impact on Volvo’s financial position.

There are two main categories of used recreational vehicles for sale (RV’s); motorized and towable. Towable RV’s include fifth wheels, travel trailers, folding/tent/pop-up campers, toy haulers, and park models. part I, fifth wheel campers and travel trailers will be covered. Part II will discuss folding/tent/pop-up campers, park model ,toy haulers for sale.
Fifth wheel campers are the most expensive of the towable campers (with the exception of some park models). They have a gooseneck hitch that is hooked up in the bed of the truck (a special package needs to be installed in the truck bed to accommodate the hitch).
In addition to the spaciousness and many amenities of fifth wheels, they are a popular towable camper because they are easier to tow than a travel trailer. That is because the weight of the fifth wheel is more centered and better distributed than with a travel trailer that is hooked up to the rear of the towing vehicle. That makes a fifth wheel camper more stable and much easier to control in windy conditions or when dealing with the back drafts from semi trucks on the freeway.
Fifth wheel campers usually have awesome kitchen areas. Some common amenities in the kitchen area include full-size pantries; full-size refrigerators, stoves, ovens and microwaves; ample cabinets and countertop space; and even snack bar areas for casual dining.Fifth wheel campers are popular with families and people who do a lot of camping because they’re very comfortable and roomy.
Almost all new fifth wheels made today have slide-out areas to give even more room. When we walk through a fifth wheel camper with slide-outs we will notice how spacious it feels because of the extra interior width they give you. Keep in mind though that every slide-out adds extra weight to the camper, adds to the cost, and adds to the setup time at the campsite.
Travel trailers are the most popular towable camping trailer in the United States. They come in many different weights and lengths. Some are light enough to be pulled by a van or SUV. A heavy duty truck isn’t always needed. Because they are hitched to and pulled by using a rear hitch, a travel trailer doesn’t use up truck bed space like a fifth wheel trailer does.
They are lighter than fifth wheels and aren’t quite as long as fifth wheel trailers. And, depending on the size the trailer, they can be very spacious with lots of great amenities including: nice-size kitchens, a bathroom, living and dining areas, and multiple sleeping areas.
Travel trailers are less expensive than fifth wheel trailers but can have the same amenities as a fifth wheel trailer which is probably the main reason they are the most popular towable used travel trailer for sale. They are also the oldest type of RV. Airstream has been making travel trailers for over 70 years.
When looking at travel trailers keep in mind that, in many cases, a 30 foot trailer is a trailer that is 30 feet when both the trailer itself and the front hitch are measured together. A 30 foot trailer may only have 27 feet of usable living space. Ask questions and look at the printed specifications when doing shopping so we know that. To be absolutely sure of the dimensions, take along a measuring tape and measure the length, width, and height of the travel trailer yourself - especially if the space in your driveway or storage area is limited.
Because of the popularity of SUV’s, many manufacturers now offer lightweight and ultra-light travel trailers. They are attractive to many RV purchasers because the majority of the trailers in these categories can be pulled by SUV’s, minivans, or medium-sized trucks. Keep in mind though that “lightweight” is a relative term. In the travel trailer world, “lightweight” typically means a trailer that weighs less than 4,000 pounds.

People often get somewhat sentimental when it comes to their car. And why not – car is one of the most important as well as cherished investments that we make, perhaps the second in line after a home. Therefore, buying a car is one of the most important decisions of your life and so is caring for it. The concern becomes even graver when it comes to buying and caring for luxury cars and exotic cars. Luxury cars are never absolute necessities and the primary function they serve is to add to the comfort and pleasure, which is why maintaining exotic cars demand greater care than usual.
One thing we should know before actually deciding to buy one of those luxury cars is that they need luxury maintenance and high upkeep expenses. So if we were thinking about buying exotic cars through financing, it will not be a very good idea because one instance of careless driving can actually cause a fortune. Therefore, it is sensible for opting for one of those luxury cars or exotic cars when we are sure about finances and are convinced of being able to keep up with the cars expensive maintenance costs.
Finding out what exactly constitutes luxury cars can be a very tricky task because the criteria most often vary and the options are vivid according the manufacturers, to the basic technologies that go behind these luxury cars and the features that the vehicles offer. Nowadays, the options are even more with wagons, SUVs, and compacts racing the way through along with luxury and exotic cars. Today’s luxury and exotic cars are defined by creature comfort, drivability and convenience. The criteria are evidently subjective.
Furthermore, the luxury and exotic cars are a statement of prestige. However, what primarily set luxury cars and usual utility vehicles apart are the former’s engineering, comfort and convenience. Things such quality leather seating, carpeting, quiet and stabilized ride, solid build, smooth engine, etc are crucial towards making what they are. There are more to a luxury car, such as incredible sound systems, in-dash screens, and automated technologies letting the cars parallel park themselves. The safety features of these luxury cars are also evolving slowly and steadily for making driving even safer and relaxed.
There are many manufacturers of luxury and exotic cars today, among whom BMW car, Lincoln, Cadillac and Mercedes-Benz are the pioneers. While exotic sports cars occupy the pinnacle of car manufacturing industry, these cars, as already stated, are not only expensive to purchase but need high upkeep and maintenance costs. These luxury cars are extremely delicate and might cause a great deal of trouble when even the smallest of their components malfunction. These elegant beauties need extreme care and handling by experienced professionals, or their incredible power might go wrong in wrong hands. However, these cars are the ones to make legends and everyone dreams of owning them.

RV’s come in many sizes and shapes. They start with campers that fit in the back of a pickup truck. These can have full kitchens, beds, a shower and toilet in them.
Next there are van conversions called Class B motorhomes that are basically a cargo van converted into a camping vehicle. These can have a raised roof for more head room. They also contain the same amenities as the truck camper.
Next up is the Class C motorhome. The front end looks like a pickup truck, but the similarity ends there. There is a sleeper extension over the cab and the back end looks like any motorhome we are probably familiar with. Basically a cargo box with windows, but much prettier. The Class C has all the amenities of home. A kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room. we could live in a Class C.
The next step us is the Class A motorhome. This is roomiest of all motorized RVs. These motorhomes are like a mini one bedroom apartment. They are fully self contained. From the queen sized bed to the dinette that seats four people you find luxury. A refrigerator and stove are complimented by a microwave oven. we might even have an ice maker capable of making over 20 pounds of ice a day.
If that weren’t enough choices, there are still the trailers. First is the travel trailer you can pull behind a larger sedan or SUV. Then the 5th wheel trailer that hooks into the back of a pickup truck. Both of these trailers are equally as luxuriant as the best motorhome. An advantage is they cost a lot less.
There are major RV shows at fairgrounds and stadiums where many dealers and vendors are selling every type of RV there is. There are also local RV shows usually put on by one or two dealers to show and sell some of their inventory.
The older and larger the motorhome the less fuel efficient it will be. we may get 5 to 7 miles per gallon on many older motorhomes. 7-9 mpg is realistic for mid 1990’s motorhomes and up to 12 miles a gallon on new ones.

The F-150 pickup and its stablemate, the Explorer Sport Trac, a hybrid SUV/pickup built off of Ford’s Explorer chassis, gets some new looks and capabilities.
The FX2 is an example of the new styling changes and cab/pickup bed options Ford is rolling out with its F-150 line next year.It looks aggressive both because of its design and its stance. The F-150 FX series was originally introduced in model.
The ‘07 Explorer Sport Trac is an all-new version of the SUV with the cargo box of a truck. The 4.5-foot cargo box is made from corrosion-proof sheet molded composite (SMC) with a molded-in black inner liner that is dent-proof and resists scratches. The box is notched, allowing customers to place two 2×4 boards across the span to provide tiered storage of materials, including the ubiquitous 4×8 plywood sheets.
The big news from General Motors is the total makeover of its Chevrolet truck Silverado and GMC truck Sierra pickups. “Our new model redesign will give the Silverado and Sierra more refinements, more power, and more safety features.
The first ‘07 Silverado and Sierra pickups to roll off the production line at the end of the year are going to be crew cab models, followed by extended cabs and then the standard pickups. models of those pickups will be renamed the Silverado Classic and Sierra Classic to distinguish them from the ‘07 versions.
Available with Duramax 6600 6.6-liter turbodiesel engines delivering 250 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, also standard on the Savana and Express vans will be GM’s StabiliTrak for better handling and safety. The company’s OnStar communications package will be optional. According to GM, its goal is to make the OnStar system standard on nearly all of its retail vehicles in the United Stat including light trucks.
Nissan plans only minor changes to its Frontier and Titan pickups. For the Frontier, different bed configurations and choices will be made available, with the addition of an auxiliary jack on some models. The SE, LE and NISMO trim levels will have LEV2 and ULEV Emission Certification.
For the Titan, engine power is going to jump to 315-320 horsepower, and a new chrome package will offer chrome step rails, rims, mirrors, etc. The Titan is available in King Cab and Crew Cab body styles, each with a standard 305 horsepower 5.6-liter DOHC V8 and a choice of 4×4 or 4×2 drive; the higher horsepower engine package is optional.
The Frontier and Titan are also going to play bigger roles in Nissan North America’s (NNA) new Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) and Fleet Division, “This is a major part of Nissan’s future profit and volume plans for the United States.

Two very different kinds of backhoe-loader buyers dominate sales of full-sized machines (dig depths of 14 feet and larger), and their very different expectations may have polarized the hydraulic-system designs in this most popular of true earthmovers. The relatively small group of volume buyers from government agencies and large rental fleets are looking for a bombproof machine and tend to be price sensitive. Owner/operators and small-business buyers, while certainly motivated by value, are willing to pay a little extra for proven production-improving features.
In order to take market share in this relatively high-dollar, high-volume machine category, manufacturers must appeal to both groups. They’ve done so admirably with technologies that can be added to machines as standard equipment. For example, the most recent new backhoe designs (from Caterpillar equipment, New Holland and JCB) have replaced foot controls for extending sticks and auxiliary hydraulics with switches mounted on control levers. They employ finger and thumb dexterity to improve control and clear the floor for more comfortable footing.
Pilot hydraulic controls represent another kind of challenge to backhoe OEMs. These circuits are plumbed in between control levers and the valves on the backhoe’s main operating circuits. When move a joystick in the cab, it activates a pilot hydraulic circuit, which in turn moves a spool on the main-pressure valve. Pilot hydraulics require less lever effort to manipulate the backhoe.
Main pressures in backhoes have climbed to a point where lever effort can influence productivity. Eight of the 35 backhoe models 14-foot and larger have hydraulic-system pressures of 3,500 psi or higher. All eight are available with pilot hydraulic controls, mostly as an option.
Why not make pilot hydraulics standard equipment? One reason is operator preference. Backhoe-loaders have been controlled by levers linked to main valves since their invention, and lots of operators claim they can feel pressure spikes in the hydraulic system when a bucket hits a hard object, like a natural-gas line. Some say pilot hydraulics insulate the control levers to that feedback from the bucket.
Another reason for keeping pilot hydraulics optional is their cost. Nevertheless, most manufacturers (Cat, Deere, JCB, Komatsu, Terex and Volvo equipment) sell at least some of their machines with standard pilot-operated hydraulic controls.
“The inclusion of pilot controls has had the biggest impact on the industry in the last 24 months,” with John Deere. “Operator comfort becomes increasingly more important as businesses try to keep their best operators. With pilot controls, operators are less fatigued at the end of the day, and more productive as a result.”
